Sail in the rain

Amazing sail on Hobie at Camp in a steady down pour.Wind was 12 - 15  mph, water was very flat. Tell tales were stuck to sail,so it was all by feel. Very similar feeling to sailing my Iceboat.

Laser at Harbour

Cool and breezy,wind East at 20 + kph., temp 9 C . Spent a couple hrs out on water.

First Hobie Sail

Out at Camp ,short Sail with ice still on parts of Lake.

First Sail

Got out on the Laser for about 3 hrs on Superior. Nice 8-10 mph Wind out of the South.First boat out Sailing here in T.Bay.

Kite Boarding

Introduced to a new wind sport.So far only doing the Kite part of it .Good fun flying a training kite and learning the new intricacies of powering it up.

Four Lakes Ice Club Post

Borrowed this cool shot from Lake Baikal Pearl's Facebook page: "A circle of thin ice (dark in colour, with a diameter of about 4.4 kilometres or 2.7 miles thought to be caused by convection); this is the focal point for ice break up in the very southern end of the lake.

Meanwhile, on North America's Thunder Bay in Lake Superior, DNer Mike Madge sent this photo of ice "located right down town in our harbour. There is better ice located further (20 miles) up the bay.That is where I was sailing last week. Weather has warmed up in last two days so have not ventured out"

Ice boating in May

4hrs of sailing out near Caribou Island on Lake Superior. Nice hard ice,Spring sailing is very nice.An assortment of Birds over head,at least two Bald Eagles ,lots of Seagulls and a few Canada Geese.
By my count that is 23 times on the ice this year.
